Senator George Sekibo has reacted after suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara said that his spirit has left the Rivers State Government House. He said if the governor truly meant what he said, then the people of Rivers State would be happy. He said the best thing for Fubara to do now is to resign

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV from 5:03, Sekibo said Fubara’s resignation would help bring peace to the state. He also said that even if Fubara comes back from suspension, he believes Fubara would not follow the proper legal or constitutional steps required of a governor.

In Sekibo’s words: “If truly his spirit has left government house, Rivers people will be so happy. Let him put in a resignation that he does not want to be Governor of Rivers State. That brings the peace. Because even if he comes back, follow the legitimate and legal or constitutional processes he will not follow. I don’t think he reads the constitution”
