Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, a member of the Labour Party (LP) loyal to the Julius Abure-led faction, has made serious allegations against some party members. In an interview with TVC News from 0.26, he claimed that Nenadi Usman and Datti Ahmed took N1.8 billion of the party’s money from activists Yesufu and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo during the 2023 elections.
“During the 2023 general elections, this woman and Datti Ahmed took 1.8 billion of the party money from Yesufu and Pastor Ituah Ighodalo,” he said.
Arabambi said this action shows that some people in the party had hidden motives. He accused Usman of being under investigation by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) for a N2.5 billion case. According to him, despite this, she is now trying to accuse others of corruption, which he found hypocritical.
He also criticized the way some members disrespect party elders. He compared the situation to a young child claiming to know more than their parent, saying that new members shouldn’t try to take over leadership without proper experience.
Arabambi announced that the Abure-led faction plans to hold a convention where they will remove those causing problems in the party. He believes Abure is a kind leader who trusted people too easily, including those who later betrayed him.
He also shared a story about how Alex Otti, now a governor, begged for the party’s ticket. But after winning, Otti allegedly removed the state party chairman, Ceekay Ijara, and replaced him with his own brother, Emmanuel Otti.
