Buba Galadima, a key member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has spoken out about serious challenges facing his party, especially in Kano State.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, Galadima alleged that the the APC is doing everything it can to make it hard for the NNPP governor to govern Kano. He said that the governor’s security detail was reduced and some private individuals now have more security protection than the governor of the state.
Galadima also said that whenever the Kano governor tries to start a project, the APC would create a parallel organization to do the same thing. Galadima said this is a direct attack on a properly elected government and shows deep disrespect for the constitution. He warned that this kind of behavior is dangerous for democracy in the country. He said “If you see the way they treat us in Kano, you will cry for the country, because they made sure that even the governor does not function. They withdrew security support for him, and some private individuals have more security coverage than the government of Kano”.
