Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who previously served as an adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has raised questions about the common belief that Nigerian presidents must serve two complete terms.

In a recent report from DAILY POST, He pointed out that the Northern Elders Forum recognized that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership had negative effects on the country.

Baba-Ahmed highlighted that Buhari did not deliver on important issues and showed reluctance to address Nigeria’s significant problems.

In response, he said the NEF collaborated with various other groups to take a stand. They gathered in Abuja to express their concerns and urged the public not to support Buhari in seeking a second term.

This initiative according to him included organizations such as Ohanaeze and Afenifere, who supported the NEF’s message.

Here’s what he said,

“One of the distracting things is this nonsense that once you are president, you must serve for two terms. Who said that? When the NEF realized that Buhari was bad news for this country, he wasn’t performing and not willing to fix this country, we rallied other groups in the country.”
