President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his two-day official visit to Katsina State, paid a heartfelt tribute to his political ally and predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, acknowledging his immense contributions to nation-building and the development of Nigeria’s north-western region.
Speaking at a grand dinner event organized in his honor by the Katsina State government from 1:00, President Tinubu expressed a rare personal sentiment as seen in a video shared by NTA: “I have enjoyed a meal and the company of the great people of Katsina. The only thing I miss is my predecessor in office, Muhammadu Buhari. As Mr. Integrity, he has loved this state and committed himself to the development of this country,” Tinubu said, drawing applause from the audience.
The dinner, which brought together top government officials, and business leaders, was not just about formalities.
Tinubu, visibly relaxed and in high spirits, joined guests in celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Katsina.
He was seen dancing to the rhythm of a newly released song, “Omo Ologo (a child of glory) Asiwaju” by popular Hausa musician Rarara, performed live at the event.
Tinubu’s visit to Katsina was marked by the commissioning of key projects, including the Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre and a 24-kilometre dual carriageway.
Reflecting on his relationship with Buhari, Tinubu has repeatedly praised the former president for his dedication, integrity, and resilience, often vowing to build on the infrastructure and policy legacies left behind by his predecessor.
