In a video interview on Channels TV with Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has openly criticized the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, calling it the worst government Nigeria has experienced in recent history.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Baba-Ahmed explained the rationale behind the decision by some political actors, including himself, to support Buhari in 2015. According to him, the desire for change from then-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration influenced their decision.

“We wanted a better option than Jonathan, that was why we supported him. I don’t think we have had a government that is worse than Buhari government,” he said, adding, “I’m 70 years old and I have followed Nigeria’s politics way back.”

His comments come at a time when Nigerians are grappling with the effects of past leadership decisions and evaluating the performance of the current administration.

The former adviser’s blunt assessment reflects a growing sentiment among many Nigerians who feel let down by successive governments.
