Supporters of Peter Obi, known as Obidients, have reacted to comments made by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as reported by PUNCH.

The governor had criticised Obi for making negative statements about Nigeria during a recent visit to Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

Sanwo-Olu said Obi’s comments were unpatriotic and unfair.

He also said Obi had nothing to show for his time as governor of Anambra State.

According to him, Obi made poverty worse during his tenure and had no right to attack President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.

Obidients quickly responded on social media, many accused Sanwo-Olu of defending Tinubu blindly.

Some called him a “puppet” and said he was only trying to protect his political godfather.

On Facebook, one supporter said it was wrong to pretend things were fine in Nigeria when they were not.

Another user on X (formerly Twitter) called Sanwo-Olu a “transient placeholder” and said he should stay out of serious national issues.

Others reminded the governor of the 2020 #EndSARS protests.

They said he had not taken responsibility for the Lekki Tollgate shootings.

Some also brought up past criticism from former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who once made harsh statements about Sanwo-Olu.

Another user, Nonconformist (@_nonconformist1), was more blunt in his statement.
