Imeabe Saviour Oscar, the National President of the South-South Youth Initiative, has sent a strong message to Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State. During a recent press briefing, Oscar made it clear that the group would no longer support Fubara if he apologized to former Governor Nyesom Wike.

In a video that was shared by SYMFONI TV from 19.42, Oscar expressed disappointment over the current political tension in Rivers State. He questioned Wike’s role in the crisis and asked if he was happy that people across the world were laughing at the situation in the state. Oscar pointed out that even though other parts of Nigeria, like Plateau, Osun, and Borno, face serious security issues, no state of emergency has been declared there. Yet, in Rivers State, such a serious step is being considered, and he blames political greed for this.

He accused top politicians of rushing to Rivers State just to benefit from the state’s wealth. According to him, the resources meant for the people of Rivers are now being shared at the national level, and Wike is doing nothing to stop it. He questioned Wike’s priorities, accusing him of only focusing on his children’s future while ignoring the suffering of ordinary people.

Oscar reminded Governor Fubara that the youth and people of Rivers supported him not because of money or favors, but because they believed in his leadership. He warned that any apology to Wike would be seen as a betrayal.

“You didn’t pay us or call us to support you, but we were actually supporting you because we noticed and Saw that you were much ready for governance,” Oscar said. “We want to remind you, fubara, if you go and apologize to Nyesom Wike, then Rivers people, we will withdraw our support from you.”
