Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has shared a memorable experience from his past involving two prominent Nigerian leaders. He said he met Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, for the first time during an event held in honour of renowned writer Chinua Achebe.
Speaking in an exclusive interview Noble Nigeria, Sowore said the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, former Biafran leader, was also present at the event.
Sowore said during the event, he found out that Ojukwu could speak Yoruba fluently. He said he made this discovery while interviewing him at the event.
In Sowore’s words: “I met Peter Obi for the first time with Chinua Achebe at Achebe’s lecture when he was governor. Ojukwu was there too, it was the day I knew that Ojukwu spoke Yoruba fluently because I interviewed him on that day”
