According to a recent video by ESET TV, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he faced a coordinated gang-up in Rivers State and had to establish structures to ensure peace and stability.
Speaking during an interview, Wike stated, “There was a gang-up against me here, and I knew there was a gang. I had to put some structures on ground to see that there is peace, so I can do my work.” He emphasized that political leadership goes beyond awarding contracts, stressing that he is open to reconciliation, but only if done sincerely.
Wike also disclosed that two APC governors reached out to him in a bid to broker peace in the lingering political crisis in Rivers State. He criticized the defiance of some political actors, warning that arrogance and falsehoods have worsened the situation, especially with prolonged salary delays affecting livelihoods.
His Words:” There was a gang-up against me here, and I knew there was a gang. I had to put some structures on ground to see that there is peace, so I can do my work. I don’t need to allow enemies to capitalize on one or two things.”
