Nollywood actress Ini Edo has opened up about her decision to pursue surrogacy in order to have a child. During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, shared on the YouTube channel of With Chude, Ini Edo addressed the personal reasons behind her choice and the public reaction she has received since then.

Ini Edo shared that her decision to go down the surrogacy path was not made lightly. She explained that she had experienced multiple miscarriages, which made her deeply desire to have a child of her own. However, as she faced these struggles, she found herself without the support of a husband, which compounded her challenges in starting a family the traditional way.

The actress admitted that initially, she intended to keep the surrogacy a private matter, preferring to keep her journey to motherhood out of the public eye. However, after some individuals leaked details about her personal life, Ini Edo decided to take control of the narrative and share her story herself, offering her own perspective on her decision to use surrogacy.

Ini Edo emphasized the importance of sharing her truth and not allowing the judgment of others to dictate her choices. She encouraged others to be open about their personal stories and to pursue what makes them happy, regardless of societal expectations.

In her words, “I did surrogacy when I had many miscarriages and I didn’t have a husband to impregnate me. I got tired of not having my own child, and thankfully my eggs are good, and I was able to have my own child.”
