In an interview with Arise News From 3:37, Senator Pam Dachungyang, representing Plateau North under the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has expressed deep concern over the recent spate of killings in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. The senator, who visited the affected community, described the attackers as unusually well-coordinated and spoke about the residents’ chilling encounter with the assailants.

Senator Dachungyang explained that the villagers who survived the attack reported hearing the attackers speak fluent English and Fufude, a Fulani dialect. This combination, he noted, was highly unusual, even among known Fulani communities in the area. According to the senator, this linguistic pattern suggests that the perpetrators may not be local Fulani herders but individuals brought in from outside the region, possibly with military-level tactics and organization.

Senator Dachungyang pointed out the strange disappearance of the attackers after the assault. He stated that when villagers and security agents tried to track the perpetrators, they had completely vanished without a trace. This led to speculation that the attackers had well-planned escape routes or were being protected. The senator emphasized that the killings were not random but part of a broader, more calculated assault on the region’s peace and security.

“When we were at the scene, the villagers were telling us they heard real Fufude, that’s the Fulani language, and they speak fluent English,” Senator Dachungyang told Arise News. “So that means they’re people that are not even among the Fulanis we know; they are some people that came from somewhere. The real Fulanis that are close to them are not that type that came. And the worst part of it — you won’t even see them again. You wonder where they enter, you look for them, they vanished.”
