According to the Vanguard Newspaper, the suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has disclosed that her arrival by helicopter in her constituency was suggested by her husband.
During an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television program hosted by Seun Akinbaloye, Natasha shared the reasoning behind her unconventional mode of transportation.
Earlier, the Kogi State government had prohibited political gatherings and restricted convoys, citing security threats.
Despite this, a large number of her supporters disregarded the restrictions and assembled in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, to welcome her.
Speaking to the enthusiastic crowd, Natasha proclaimed, “This is where I belong, my hometown. No one has the authority to prevent me from returning. I am the daughter of the late Dr. Abdul Akpoti.”
When questioned about whose idea it was to use a helicopter, she responded, “It was my husband’s suggestion. Since the roads leading to my house were obstructed, he proposed that we arrive by air.”
She argued that the restrictions were deliberately imposed to hinder her, considering the timing of the ban on political events in the state.
Nonetheless, she maintained her stance: “I have not violated any law. The gathering took place on my property, and I personally funded the construction of the road leading to my residence. I have donenothing illegal.”
Hear her speak: “I own the place where people gathered. I built the road that leads to my house. So, I broke no law.
