The Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Dr. Robinson Ewor, has revealed that it is only five out of the 13 House of Representatives members from the state that are in communication with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

During an interview with Arise TV, Ewor emphasized that the ongoing situation in Rivers State is not a crisis but a disagreement between the former governor, Nyesom Wike, and the current governor over control of resources.

He stated that the state assembly is no longer serving the interests of Rivers State but is instead working in favour of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister.

Ewor further highlighted that, among the three senators representing the state, none are in contact with Governor Fubara. According to him, they align with Wike. He questioned Wike’s intentions, stating that the former governor seeks to control the state’s resources, political structure, and even the sitting governor.

He said, “The president by now should have enough intelligence to tell him that the situation in Rivers State is a pure disagreement between the former governor and the current governor over control of resources, not an issue of crisis.

“The assembly is no longer working for the state; the assembly is working for him, the FCT Minister. We have 13 House of Reps members; only 5 are talking with the governor, while the rest are with him. The three senators—none of them are talking to the governor; they are talking with Nyesom Wike. What exactly does Nyesom Wike want in this state? Control of resources, control of structure, control of the governor.
