Comrade Saviour Oscar Imeabe, the National President of the South South Youths Initiative, has expressed his concerns after President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State. He stated that Rivers State has been peaceful, and there was no need for such a drastic measure.
Speaking in a video shared by Symfoni TV from 14:53, Imeabe said in Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma faced multiple attacks. According to Imeabe, the governor’s private and official vehicles were attacked, as well as his personal residence. He said despite the security challenges in Imo, no state of emergency was declared in the state
In Imeabe’s words: “Mr President, Rivers State has been in peace and there is no need for State of Emergency. In the east there is a lot of situations going on, every Monday there is sit-at-home. We have a situation in Imo State where the current governor Hope Uzodinma was attacked, his private vehicle, his official vehicle was attacked, his personal residence was attacked, the entire Imo State was in a serious security challenge and Mr President never declared state of emergency in Imo”
