Idowu Ogunbode, the father of 28-year-old Adedamola, has shared his deep pain over the tragic loss of his son, whose body was recently found in a shallow grave after being missing for about two months.
Speaking in an interview with Punch, Idowu said he lost his memory when he received news that the suspect had confessed and led authorities to where he killed and buried Adedamola. He said his mind has been troubled, making it hard to focus or even hear when people call him.
Idowu described Adedamola as a son he deeply cherished. He disclosed that whenever Adedamola was unwell, he would rush to his side without hesitation because of how much he cared for him. He said he now believes that God, who gave Adedamola to them, has taken him back, even though the pain is unbearable.
Idowu also spoke about how devastated his wife is. He mentioned that she has not been able to sleep, has lost a lot of weight, and is so emotionally broken that she sometimes says things that are worrying.
Idowu said “Since the day I heard the news on Tuesday that the suspect had confessed and was taken to where my son was killed and buried, I lost my memory, and I’m just recovering now.”
