The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has vowed to ensure he deliver Rivers State to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, as reported by PUNCH.
Wike, who has remained a dominant political figure in the state, stated that he would maintain his influence and ensure that Rivers aligns with Tinubu’s political ambitions.
Wike’s statement comes amid a prolonged political battle with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The rift between the two leaders has divided the political structure of Rivers State, with different factions backing either Wike or Fubara.
Despite the ongoing crisis, Wike remains confident that his political camp will retain control of the state’s affairs.
Since leaving office as governor, Wike has remained active in both state and national politics.
His role in the 2023 general elections was significant, as he played a crucial part in political realignments that benefited Tinubu’s presidency.
By pledging Rivers State’s support for Tinubu in 2027, Wike signals his intention to remain influential in national politics and continue shaping the political landscape of the South-South region.
Wike vowed to deliver the state to President Bola Tinubu in 2027, boasting that he defeated them before and he will continue to defeat them. So, for him, I has made it clear that Rivers is for President Bola Tinubu 2027.
“I have defeated them before and I will continue to defeat them. So, for me, I have made it clear that this state is supporting President Bola Tinubu,” Wike vowed.
