International Human Rights Activist Donu Kogbara, who claims to be a close personal friendship with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has suggested that the minister’s ongoing conflict with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara stems from extraordinary circumstances, noting that this behavior contradicts Wike’s typical character.

Donu Kogbara speaking in an Arise TV interview acknowledged the tension while expressing uncertainty about its cause. “Wike is upset with Fubara, and maybe for good reason. To be honest with you, I don’t know Fubara, and I don’t know what he did to upset Wike this much,” Kogbara stated.

The activist then offered a perspective that challenged popular perceptions of the FCT Minister. “I’ll say something that will surprise a lot of people: I don’t know Wike to be a particularly vindictive person,” she revealed.

She supported this claim with personal experience of how Wike forgave her after making a huge allegation against him. “I accused him of rigging the election in Rivers State in 2023, but he forgave me, and we carried on being the best of friends after a few little sulking sessions and verbal exchanges. And when my mother died, I didn’t ask him for anything; he gave me money just to contribute to the burial cost.”

With these positive personal experiences, she suggested that Governor Fubara must have committed some extraordinary transgression. “So, you know, Fubara must have done something that just really he can’t forget it, and he can’t forgive it. I suggest that a real friend will tell him, ‘Sorry mate, sometimes for the greater good, you have to let certain things go.’ It is too self-centered to drag a whole state into all of this mess,” she stated.
