In a recent interview from 18:24 shared by Channels Television, former Director of Legal and Voter Education at the Independent National Electoral Commission, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, weighed in on the ongoing leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), outlining possible legal pathways for resolving the dispute.
Speaking on the implications of INEC’s position, Osaze-Uzzi stressed that the situation poses a serious risk to the party’s functionality and participation in future elections if not urgently addressed. He explained that the absence of a recognized leadership structure could hinder the party’s ability to communicate with the electoral body, submit candidate lists, and fulfill other statutory obligations.
According to him, the best course of action for the party is to adopt lawful and strategic measures to safeguard its structure and relevance. He advised that internal disputes should not be allowed to weaken the party’s standing within Nigeria’s democratic space.
