International Human Rights Activist Donu Kogbara has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is uniquely positioned to intervene in the ongoing Rivers State political crisis by restraining FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

In a recent Arise TV interview from 4:19, she expressed skepticism about the president’s neutrality in the conflict. “It’s clear that he (President Tinubu) is on Wike’s side. And the President’s attempts to offer advice to Fubara are just tokenism, it’s just gaslighting,” Kogbara stated.

The activist directly appealed to the president to take more decisive action. “Give us a break, play your role. You’re supposed to be the leader and you’re supposed to be the daddy of the nation. I mean, you’re old enough to help us out of this situation. Why don’t you stop all this unnecessary problem?” she questioned.

Kogbara, who claims personal familiarity with Wike, offered a candid assessment of the FCT Minister’s temperament. “Wike is a very impetuous person, he’s pernicious, and he’s volatile. I know him really well, and you know, on a good day, he’s a nice person,” she said.

The activist suggested that Wike’s grievances against Governor Fubara have created an unsustainable situation requiring presidential intervention. “But once he gets to be in his bonnet like this, his fixation with Fubara, whom he feels betrayed by him, he’s going to carry on like this till somebody says stop. Wike is like a moving train, and the only person that can stop him is the President,” Kogbara concluded.
