According to an interview on News Central TV, political analyst Akin Fapounda has criticized the practice of politicians using media aides to communicate with Nigerians, describing it as insulting.

Akin Fapounda’s comments come after Atiku Abubakar, a potential presidential candidate, denied rumors of defecting to another party through his media aides.

Fapounda questioned why Abubakar couldn’t speak directly to Nigerians, suggesting that his use of media aides undermines the authenticity of his message.

Fapounda also expressed skepticism about Abubakar’s presidential ambitions, stating that he is just out to be President and willing to use any means necessary to achieve his goal.

The analyst noted that Abubakar is not alone in his tactics, as many politicians are shopping around for opportunities to advance their interests.

Akin Fapounda’s comments shows the growing distrust of politicians in Nigeria and the need for greater transparency and accountability.

As the country prepares for the 2027 presidential election, Nigerians will be watching closely to see how candidates like Abubakar engage with the public and address the issues that matter most to them.

In his own words, “The practice of politicians using media aides to talk to Nigerians is so insulting, why can’t he speak with his own mouth, so we can know that he means what he said. Atiku is just out to be President, and he wants to use all means to be President. So he is just shopping around, he isn’t alone as all of them are shopping around looking for something that they want.”
