Nigerian activist and former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X account on Saturday to react after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rejected the proposal that was submitted by the National Population Commission, NPC.
According to Punch, President Bola Tinubu has turned down a N942bn proposal by the National Population Commission for the conduct of the national housing and population census.
It was reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rejected the proposal stating that cost-cutting measures must be applied.
Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani condemned the proposal that was submitted by NPC. He described the amount that the NPC demanded as madness.
The former Kaduna lawmaker lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rejecting the proposal made by NPC.
According to Shehu Sani on his official X account;
“National Population Commission request for almost a trillion naira just to count the number of Nigerians is total madness. The rejection of their budget is commendable”.
