According to the Sun Newspaper, former militant leader Asari Dokubo has issued a stern warning to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the federal government, cautioning them against any plans to unseat Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Political tensions in Rivers State have escalated, with growing friction between Wike and Fubara.

In a video circulated on social media, Dokubo emphasized that the Ijaw people would strongly oppose any attempt to remove Fubara from office.

He urged the federal government to step in and ensure that both political figures resolve their issues peacefully.

Dokubo warned that impeaching Fubara would trigger severe consequences, stressing that Wike’s political influence should not dictate the state’s future.

He asserted that any effort to oust Fubara would face strong resistance from the Ijaw people, referencing past instances where they had fiercely defended their interests in other states.

Reiterating his stance, he made it clear that the Ijaw community would not allow a repeat of such events in Rivers.

He called on the authorities to heed his warning, insisting that the best course of action would be for Wike and Fubara to settle their differences without interference.

“It will not be easy for anyone who thinks they can impeach Sim and expect the Ijaw people to accept it! Removing Sim will be a challenge,” Dokubo declared.

“Remember what I am saying! God is my witness. No one can just impeach Sim and install another governor. That will not happen,” he added.

Hear him speak: “Let me tell you, if you allow Wike to push this as he is doing, it will be very difficult for him to come to Rivers State. It will be difficult for anybody if they think that they’re going to impeach Sim and Ijaw people will allow it! It will be difficult to impeach Sim.
