Iranian academic and political commentator Seyed Mohammed Marandi has argued that the alliance confronting Iran and its regional partners has already failed in its objectives, warning that any attempt to continue the conflict could have devastating consequences beyond the battlefield.
Writing on his verified X account, Marandi said the camp opposing Iran and the Axis of Resistance had reached a point of strategic failure. He maintained that further military action would only intensify the crisis and increase the costs for those involved.
Marandi claimed that the continuation of the war would not reverse the situation on the ground, but would instead deepen the setbacks already suffered by Israel and its allies.
He also warned that an expanded conflict could spread economic turmoil across the world. According to him, prolonged instability in the region could disrupt energy supplies, damage international trade routes and place additional pressure on already fragile global markets.
The Iranian commentator made the remarks as tensions continue to rise across West Asia following weeks of exchanges involving Iran, Israel, the United States and armed groups allied with Tehran.
Security analysts have repeatedly cautioned that a wider confrontation could have far-reaching effects because of the region’s importance to global oil production and maritime transport. Any major disruption in the Middle East is widely expected to affect fuel prices, shipping costs and investor confidence.
