In a stunning attack, the Russian Federation had branded the recent visit of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States as a complete political and diplomatic failure after a tense and heated exchange between President Zelenskyy, American President Donald Trump, and Vice President of America, J.D. Vance at the Oval Office, a meeting that was meant to strengthen Ukraine’s ties with its key ally, which turned into a major diplomatic embarrassment for Kyiv.
According to Anadolu English, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, while speaking at a press conference in Moscow, said, “Zelenskyy is inappropriate, corrupt, and incapable of reaching an agreement. That is why he has destroyed the opposition, created a totalitarian state, and is mercilessly sending millions of his citizens to their deaths. In the current political conditions, which are worsening for the Kyiv regime, he is unable to show a sense of responsibility and is therefore obsessed with continuing the war and refuses peace, which means death for him.”
Maria Zakharova pointed out that in order to achieve a truly fair and sustainable peace in Ukraine, the root causes of the Ukrainian war that lasted for more than one thousand days must be eliminated, stressing that the previously stated goals of Putin’s administration have not changed. She also accused the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy of prioritizing his own power over Ukraine’s future, claiming that he had eliminated political opposition to maintain control, established a totalitarian regime in Ukraine, sent millions of the good citizens of Ukraine to their deaths by refusing peace talks with the Russian Federation.
Maria Zakharova went further to stress that the refusal of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to seek peace with the administration of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin was not about national security, but self-preservation. She also reaffirmed the stance of President Putin’s administration, insisting that for there to be a fair and lasting peace, the Ukrainian Government and the country members of the European Union must accept Moscow’s demands.
In another latest development, the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a groundbreaking loan agreement with the Government of the United Kingdom under the leadership of Keir Starmer, a deal that was set to supercharge the weapons production of the Ukrainian forces with funding coming from frozen Russian assets a move that was bound to send shockwaves through the Russian Federation.
