Valentine Ozigbo, the Anambra State APC governorship hopeful, has stirred conversation with a recent comment directed at Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Ozigbo remarked, “You are running for 2027 election, mine is this year.

I don’t have the time.

If I had 2027, I could be patient.”

Ozigbo, a former PDP candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, is now contesting under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His remark to Obi highlights the different timelines within Nigerian politics, where some leaders focus on the current race, while others have a vision for the future.

The comment also signals Ozigbo’s impatience with the current state of Anambra politics and his eagerness to make a significant change in the state.

While Obi is preparing for the 2027 presidential race, Ozigbo’s focus remains squarely on Anambra’s future, making clear his intention to seize the opportunity in this year’s election and work toward his vision for the state.
