Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, recently talked about the advantages of raising children outside Africa on the MIC ON PODCAST.
He expressed his appreciation for his situation, sharing that his children live in the United States, Australia, and the UK, rather than in Africa. According to him, in these countries, education is provided free of charge up to the university level, and healthcare is also free, highlighting the stark differences compared to Nigeria.
Isaac emphasized that he does not face the financial pressures that many of his friends in Nigeria experience. He said he feels relieved not to have to worry about school fees, as educational expenses in the UK are covered by the government, and similarly in Australia.
He also discussed the healthcare situation, stating that he does not have to deal with the same challenges in accessing medical care for his children. Unlike in Nigeria, where purchasing medications can be a struggle, healthcare systems abroad are more effective and reliable.
Isaac stated,
“Fortunately for me, I don’t really have any children in Africa; I have more in America, Australia, and the UK, where education is free up to the university level and where medical care is free. I don’t go through what my friends go through in Nigeria. I don’t pay school fees; Her Majesty the Queen pays my children’s school fees. In Australia, the government pays my fees for me. When my kids are sick, I don’t have to go to the H-Medics to buy malaria drugs; overseas, they have a system that works.”
