Five days after the terrorist attack in Angwan Rukuba, within Jos North Local Government Area, another victim, Nicholas Dashe, was reported to be lying quietly with his chest heavily bandaged.
According to The Punch, Dashe, identified as a chemist in the area, was said to have been shot alongside customers inside his shop during the incident. Due to his weakened condition, he was unable to speak, and his account was instead shared by his neighbour, Daniel Yakubu.
Yakubu explained that Dashe had been attending to customers when two young men with covered faces entered the shop.
“He was attending to customers when two young men with covered faces entered the shop,” the neighbour said.
According to him, no one initially suspected any danger until the men suddenly produced firearms and opened fire, killing the customers on the spot.
He added that Dashe narrowly survived, as the bullet struck him near the chest. Yakubu noted that prompt intervention was crucial in saving his life, stating that he might not have survived otherwise.
He also expressed concern over the situation, lamenting that the attackers appeared to move freely with weapons and stressing the urgent need for action to address the insecurity.
