A suspected internet fraudster, commonly known as a “Yahoo Boy,” has confessed to deceiving his victim into sending him money on several occasions amounting to a staggering $597,000.

The revelation came during an interrogation conducted by the Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

In a video posted on SYMFONI’s YouTube channel from from 0:01 , Adejobi questioned the suspect about how he managed to convince his victim, identified as Deborah, to send him such a huge amount of money within six weeks. The suspect, who appeared hesitant at first, later admitted that he manipulated her emotions by requesting financial assistance.

During the interrogation, the suspect explained that after getting involved with the woman, he started making financial demands based on ideas he presented to her. When asked to clarify the nature of these ideas, he simply stated that he asked for help under the pretense of needing financial assistance to support his family.

“It was financial assistance,” he repeatedly told the police officer when pressed for details. “I requested financial assistance to support my family,” he added.

During the interrogation, the Yahoo Boy also revealed how he spent the money he received from his victim. He purchased a house worth ₦65 million and also started a car dealership business with the funds.

The suspect explained that he made payment for the house in just two transactions, a statement that shocked Adejobi. The police officer found it unusual that a house of that value could be paid for in only two installments, suggesting that the suspect had access to large sums of money at once.
