During a media briefing captured by local news outlets, Okocha questioned the project’s integrity, stating, “Let me see the building?” His skepticism focused particularly on the construction standards and overall execution of the housing scheme.
Elaborating on his position, Okocha announced his political ambitions for 2027, emphasizing the need for competent leadership. “When we will produce a governor of Rivers State that will have the mental wherewithal,” he stated, highlighting his vision for the state’s development.
He stated, “And then gentlemen, go and see if I am Governor tomorrow; I will put it on record. I’m Governor tomorrow—or uh, by 2027 when we will produce a governor of Rivers State that will have the mental wherewithal.”
