According to a report from Symfoni TV on Saturday, February 8, Edison Ehie, Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has revealed former Governor Peter Odili’s message to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike while condemning unauthorized political representations in Rivers State politics.

During a recent broadcast on Symfoni TV, Ehie disclosed Odili’s stance regarding state autonomy. “The only offense our grandfather and father Dr. Peter Odili committed was to tell Wike, ‘Please allow Rivers’ people to be, allow our resources to be,'” Ehie stated, highlighting Odili’s position on preserving Rivers State’s independence.

The Chief of Staff specifically addressed a video showing individuals offering apologies to Minister Wike during a social gathering. “Somebody sent me one video where the Minister of FCT, the host in Committee of Friends, where they drink,” Ehie noted, expressing disapproval of unauthorized representatives making decisions for the state.

Questioning the legitimacy of these actions, Ehie declared, “How you will apologize for us when the leaders are here?” He emphasized that such unauthorized representations undermine established political protocols and leadership structures in Rivers State.

The revelation provides insight into the political dynamics between current and former state leaders, particularly regarding resource control and state autonomy. Ehie’s statements reflect growing concerns about external interference in Rivers State’s political affairs.
