A 55-year-old man named Ayodele Ijilakinro, who has a criminal record and is accused of being a serial rāpist, has been taken into custody by a security group in Ondo state known as Amotekun.
According to The Vanguard, it was reported that he had just finished serving a three-year sentence for suspected rape at the Olokuta Correctional Centre and was released a little over a year ago.
Ijilakinro was presented to the public along with 27 other people who were also arrested throughout the state.
During an interview, he admitted to having sexual relations with several women. He stated that many of these encounters were consensual, meaning the women agreed to them, and he did not force anyone.
He said, “I have rāped only three ladies. I take others to hotels, where they eat, drink before engaging them in sexual activities and give them money. They were never forced. l was jailed in 2021.”
During the parade, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who is the State Commander of Amotekun, shared some important news. He mentioned that 24 suspects had been arrested for different actions that broke the law and created disorder.
Adeleye also pointed out that, even with these arrests, Ondo State is still quite peaceful.
“Notably, there have been no recorded violations of existing laws, no crises related to land or chieftaincy disputes, and no labour union conflicts.
