A legal practitioner, Liborous Oshoma, has shared his view on the ongoing leadership crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following recent developments involving Nafiu Bala and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking during an interview from 9:02  on Channels TV, Oshoma explained that the crisis could have been avoided if the party had properly handled its internal arrangements. According to him, the situation suggests that not everyone involved in the earlier agreement was satisfied.

He pointed out that it is unusual for someone to resign and later claim they did not actually step down. This, he said, may indicate that certain promises or agreements made before the resignation were not fulfilled afterward.

Oshoma suggested that Nafiu Bala might not have been properly settled based on whatever terms were agreed upon before his resignation. As a result, Bala may have felt pushed aside unfairly and decided to challenge the situation in court.

He placed much of the blame on the ADC leadership, noting that the party failed to put its affairs in order before making major decisions. This, he added, created room for disagreements and legal battles.

The crisis has continued to affect the party, especially after INEC made changes to its leadership records, further deepening the confusion within the ADC.
