Popular Yoruba movie actress Olayinka Adebanjo has revealed one of the reasons she stopped acting in movies while also stating the impact her son’s death has had on the film making career.

In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent during an interview, she made it known that she stopped acting in movies because she lost her only child, who was twenty-eight years old before he died, and that she has not been able to get money to do her surrogacy in order to have another child.

In her statement, she said, “One of my friends called to inform me that my son was sick, I was so confused to the extent that I didn’t know what to do. I was prepared to go to Lagos, where he was receiving treatment, to meet him, but I went out without wearing shoes, and I stayed on a bridge for some hours before my friend came to take me back to my house. I noticed that a lot of people had gathered in front of my house, but nobody told me anything; it was a pastor who came in and told me that my son was dead. I locked myself inside the house and I cried uncontrollably before I got over it. I stopped acting in movies when I lost my only child, and I don’t have money to do surrogacy. I have done a lot of things and visited a lot of people to beg for money, but I couldn’t get it up till this moment.”
