Former Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, has spoken about the political conflict between former Governor Nyesom Wike and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, in Rivers State.
Speaking in a video recently shared by Symfoni TV from 2:38, Secondus said that once a leader is appointed, even those who helped bring them to power must step aside to allow the new leader to govern effectively. He stated that being a “kingmaker” does not give anyone the right to interfere with the king’s duties once crowned.
Secondus mentioned that the people of Rivers State have seen that Fubara leads with a sense of responsibility and reverence for God despite the turbulence surrounding his leadership.
In Secondus words: “Unfortunately, the one (Wike) who handed over to you (Fubara) has totally refused to accept that someone that God ordained is on the seat as a governor. Regardless whether you are kingmaker, as soon as a king has been crowned you must give way to the king to perform his duties. You (Fubara) were troubled after you took office but in that troubled water all Rivers people discovered the character you are made of. You are made of the fear of God”
