Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has said the late President Muhammadu Buhari made significant progress in tackling insecurity during his administration, noting that the former president inherited serious security challenges but recorded major gains against insurgents in the North-East.

Speaking during an interview from 12:52 on Arise News, Sirika said Buhari’s administration weakened Boko Haram and restored normal activities in many communities, allowing residents to return to farming, schooling, trading, and other daily activities after years of insecurity.

“When he came, he dealt with that, decimated and reduced Boko Haram to almost nothing, recaptured those 17 local governments, recovered a substantial number of the Chibok girls who were abducted, and also caused all the checkpoints to be removed, so people could move freely, farm, go to the market, and attend school in the North-East, which was the epicenter of that problem.”

He added that the recovery of territories from insurgents and the restoration of normal life in affected communities showed the impact of Buhari’s security efforts, saying the late president should be remembered for the progress made against insecurity during his years in office….See More
