Martin Amaewhule, the factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has stated that people who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APP are now seeking to return to PDP.
In a video shared by Symfoni TV from 3:40, Amaewhule alleged that these members were encouraged by the Rivers State Government to leave the PDP last year. According to Amaewhule, those who defected celebrated their move to the APP but are now regretting their decision. He stated that they are privately expressing regret and disappointment over their switch. He added that these individuals are attempting to return to the PDP through “the back door”
In Amaewhule’s words: “Last year some members of our party were sponsored by the government house of Rivers State, they were encouraged and they defected from PDP to APP. All those who defected from PDP to APP under the sponsorship of Rivers State government house are now regretting why they defected to APP. They are now in tears in their closets, they are crying and they are in huge regret. After celebrating their new party, APP, they have suddenly woken up and they want to return back to PDP through the back door”
