One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his official X account to speak about the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
According to the post that Senator Shehu Sani shared on his page on Thursday, he compared Ibrahim Traore with former Burkina Faso leader, Captain Thomas Sankara.
Shehu Sani stated that in the 80s, young people rallied round Thomas Sankara because he was an African revolutionary but he was later murdered. He said today, Captain Traore is threading a path that is similar to that of Sankara. The former Kaduna lawmaker stated that may the Almighty protect the President of Burkina Faso.
According to Shehu Sani on his official X account;
“In 1987, he was overthrown and brutally murderèd before our very eyes. Captain Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso is threading the same path. The forces that evicted Sankara and their ‘running dogs’ are still much around. May the Almighty protect Ibrahim”.
