In a recent interview with Arise News from 16:48, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, emphasized the unwavering dedication of Nigeria’s Armed Forces to upholding democracy. General Musa stated unequivocally that the military is committed to its constitutional role of defending the nation and protecting its citizens, both at home and abroad.

General Musa also highlighted the Armed Forces’ focus on ensuring the safety and security of Nigerians. He reiterated that the military’s priority remains the protection of the nation’s sovereignty and the well-being of its citizens, rather than any political ambitions.

“No military personnel is interested in any coups,” General Musa declared during the interview. “We thrive better in a democratic setting, and we want to sustain it. The Armed Forces is just a stool to democracy for us to defend and to protect every Nigerian inside and outside. That’s our role, and that’s what we are going to continue to play.”
