A man grieving the brutal murder of his 68-year-old mother has spoken out following the tragic incident in Ahoada West, Rivers State. The suspect, identified as Ikem ThankGod, also known as “Two Man,” has been arrested by the police in connection with this gruesome crime and other violent activities in the area.
In a video shared by SYMFONI TV during a press briefing by the Rivers State Police Command, the man recounted the heartbreaking event. He explained that his mother was kìlled by Ikem after returning from the farm, leaving him confused about the motive. “I don’t know why he kìlled my mother. She was an elderly woman, and we had no issues with him. I’m a Christian and had no problems with him,” he said.
He also revealed that Ikem buried his mother after the mùrder, but with the help of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ahoada West, her remains were recovered. He expressed gratitude to the police for their efforts in ensuring the suspect was apprehended and brought to justice.
Ikem ThankGod is accused of several crimes in the community, including kidnapping and reportedly burying some vìctims alive. He is also alleged to have kìlled a police officer in April, stolen his weapon, and vandalized government properties.
Although the man was not present during the attack, he emphasized that the suspect made no demands, leaving the family puzzled about his intentions. He concluded by commending the police, particularly the Ahoada West DPO, for their swift and effective response.

If not for Ahoada West DPO, the man assisted me and we recovered my mother’s dead body where he burìed her. The same young man committed many atrocities, he will come out kidnap people and go and bury them alìve. He vandalizes government properties in my community. On April after he kìlled my mum he went to another village and kìlled a police man.
