In a revealing video broadcast on Symfoni TV from 4:05, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has announced plans to cancel and re-award a critical infrastructure project, citing fundamental issues with the current contractor’s approach and integrity.

“As for the internal road and other things, you already know the story there,” Fubara began, signaling an ongoing controversy surrounding the project.

The governor described the contractor as “a wonderful young man” but criticized a critical professional failing. “Doesn’t have the boldness to look at truth and tell the person, ‘Look, what you’re doing and what we are doing is bad,'” he stated, highlighting what he perceives as a lack of moral courage.

Fubara’s decision stems from what he views as an irreconcilable professional relationship. “I feel it would be wrong for me to continue to sponsor somebody who has come openly to declare himself an enemy of the State,” he declared.

The governor’s solution is definitive: “I’m going to cancel it officially and re-award it,” he announced, noting that the Minister of Works has already been informed of the situation.

This dramatic project cancellation underscores the governor’s commitment to maintaining high standards of accountability and transparency in state infrastructure development.
