According to PREMIUM TIMES, the Ekiti state police command has reacted after former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore announced a global protest against the detention of human rights activist, Dele Farotimi.
Omoyele Sowore, on his official X account on Friday, outlined plans for demonstrations on the day Dele Farotimi will appear before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, for his bail hearing. He said the protest will be held in and outside the country.
Reacting, the Ekiti state police command stated that any form of unlawful gathering, demonstration or protest is unacceptable. The police stated that some unscrupulous individuals have planned to hide under the protest to hijack it and unleash mayhem in the state.
According to PREMIUM TIMES, the police said;
