Kenneth Okonkwo has taken to his official X account on Friday to state that the people who should be in jail are in the presidency.
This came after human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi was arrested, arraigned and remanded in prison over an alleged defamation.
Kenneth Okonkwo said it is a shame that in Nigeria, the people who should be jailed are in the presidency while the the people who should be in the presidency are the ones in jail.
Kenneth Okonkwo said people like Dele Farotimi and other courageous whistle blowers should be commended with national honours and not committed to prison.
According to Kenneth Okonkwo on his page;
“I am at a loss why anybody in Nigeria will still be in doubt that Nigeria has a systemic corruption problem in which those in power collude with those outside power to defraud the Nigeria nation. People like Dele and other courageous whistle blowers should be commended with national honours and not committed to prison. It’s a shame that in Nigeria, people who should be in prison are in the presidency, while people who should be in the presidency are in prison”.
