A female Inspector from the Rivers State Police Command whose efforts were said to have led to the arrest of a notorious kidnapers leader and the recovery of the sum of N2.5 million ransom has been rewarded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, the command announced in a statement on Monday night.
The state police command disclosed the development on its X handle and Facebook wall, saying the Inspector, Blessing Ozii, was instrumental in busting a dangerous criminal gang which led to the arrest of the kingpin of kidnappers, whose name was given as Idris Abdullahi.

According to the command, following her exploit, she was commended by the Commissioner of Police and a ceremony to commend her and one other senior officer who also made exploits was held at the Police Officers Mess in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The command wrote: “Inspector Blessing Ozii was recognized for her exceptional intelligence and diligence, which led to the apprehension of a notorious kidnappers leader, Idris Abdullahi. Her efforts not only dismantled a dangerous criminal operation, but also resulted in the recovery of ₦2.5 million.
“For her outstanding performance, she received the Commissioner’s Commendation Award and a monetary reward as a token of appreciation.”

The Commissioner was said to have praised her efforts and encouraged her to continue to contribute her quota to the crime-fighting efforts of the command.
