One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after the Auditor General of the Federation exposed some irregular payments across some ministeries.
According to PUNCH, a report by the Auditor General of the Federation has exposed irregular payments for contracts totalling over N197.72 billion across various ministries, departments, and agencies, raising serious concerns about systemic lapses in financial compliance and procurement processes.
The report further stated that the findings, which are detailed in the Auditor-General’s Annual Report on Non-Compliance and Internal Control Weaknesses, cover activities between 2020 and 2021.
However, Senator Shehu Sani has now reacted after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, he said it is left for the government to make a move and recover it or just ignore it.
Here is what he wrote on his page;
“Nigeria’s Auditor General uncovered a N197 billion fraud. Now, it is left for the Government to move to recover it or just ignore it. Imagine such amount pumped into our dilapidated public primary schools”.
