The candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in the 2023 presidential election, Wole Adebayo has stated that whenever former president, Olusegun Obasanjo speaks, the right person to respond to him is the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This statement was contained in a report that was published by DAILY POST on Monday.
Adebayo made the statement after Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu tackled Olusegun Obasanjo over the comment he made at the Yale University.
In the report that surfaced online, Adebayo said when Obasanjo is speaking and raising issues in the country, the president is the one that should be responding. He said when presidents are responding to each other, the language will be better and the clarity will be there.
He was quoted as saying that;
“When Obasanjo speaks on a matter of national importance, the person to speak is the incumbent president himself because Obasanjo is not a small fry. When he is speaking and raising issues in the country, the president himself needs to respond to that. When presidents are responding to each other, the language is better, the clarity is there. Short of that, the vice president should respond, if he impacts the economy, but if the two of them are distracted by other things, the minister of information”.
