The life and service of the late Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja, were honored recently at a special church service. In a video that was shared by SYMFONI TV from 15.30, during the event which was held in Abuja, an officer who also serves as a preacher in the church shared a touching testimony about General Lagbaja’s dedication to God and his commitment to church activities.
According to the preacher, General Lagbaja was a man of discipline and faith who made church attendance a priority despite his demanding role as a military leader. He described how the General was known for his promptness, often arriving 15 minutes early to church. “He would sit alone in the front seat, ready to worship and connect with God,” the preacher said.
The officer further explained that if the Sunday service started and General Lagbaja was not present, it was certain that he had been called away on an important duty. However, wherever he served, his reputation for punctuality and devotion remained consistent.
The preacher added that this example of faith and dedication left a lasting impression on the church and the communities he served. He encouraged the congregation to emulate the General’s commitment to God and to cherish the values he lived by.
The church expressed gratitude for General Lagbaja’s life and prayed for his family, the armed forces, and everyone mourning his loss. His legacy, both as a leader and a devoted Christian, continues to inspire many.
