Pastor Olufemi Salako, the National President of the Ilobu Asake Development Union and a native of the same town as the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has addressed the suspicions surrounding Lagbaja’s death.

In a recent interview with Punch, Salako stated that if any information regarding Lagbaja’s death is hidden by the authorities, it will eventually come to light. He said that if any individual was involved in Lagbaja’s death, the person will eventually face the judgment of God.

Pastor Salako concluded by saying that his community believes there is no need to act beyond trusting in God’s eventual judgment.

In Pastor Salako’s words: “If the Army authorities know something and sweep it under the carpet, they are wasting their time because, as the adage goes, ‘You can hide something, but it can never be forgotten.’ If it is not uncovered now, there will come a time when it will be revealed, and whoever is responsible cannot avoid God’s judgment. We are religious people, and we believe that. We don’t need to do anything else about it.”
