Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stern warning to Nigeria’s political opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), predicting that they will face severe frustration and exhaustion in their efforts against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a video statement from 01:49, Ayodele said the ADC and other opposition forces “have not seen anything yet,” stressing that the ruling establishment would deploy a series of tactics to wear them down. According to him, the government is bent on eliminating any obstacles to its agenda.

“You see all this, I’ve said it before, that this ADC opposition, they will squeeze life out of them,” Ayodele declared. “They have not seen anything. They will come up with different strategies, but they will get tired. They will frustrate them.”

The cleric, known for his political prophecies, linked the struggle of the ADC and other smaller parties to the desperation he perceives in Tinubu’s leadership style. He argued that the president is unwilling to tolerate any serious stumbling block in his path and will work aggressively to neutralize opposition voices.

“Tinubu is desperate too. Desperate,” Ayodele warned. “Any stumbling block, he wants to remove that stumbling block. Resolve it. It’s a very serious thing.”

His remarks reflect growing political tension as opposition groups continue to accuse the federal government of suppressing dissent, limiting political space, and tightening its grip on Nigeria’s democratic system. Critics have argued that despite promises of inclusivity, the administration has displayed tendencies to undermine opposition through political maneuvering.

Ayodele’s caution comes at a time when the ADC, though a relatively small political party compared to the major blocs, has attempted to carve out a distinct voice in Nigeria’s political scene. However, the cleric’s prophecy suggests that such efforts may face intense challenges ahead.

Political analysts note that Tinubu, who has a long history of political battles, is unlikely to yield ground easily to opposition forces. His administration has already faced criticism over economic reforms, subsidy removal, and the handling of security crises. Yet, Ayodele’s comments suggest that rather than weakness, the presidency may double down on efforts to silence critics.

The cleric also implied that the desperation he sees in Tinubu could escalate political confrontations in the coming months. “It’s not just about politics as usual,” Ayodele added. “This is about a fight to remove every form of hindrance. Opposition must be ready because the frustration will be too much.”

Observers believe Ayodele’s prediction reveals the need for Nigeria’s opposition to rethink its strategy, strengthen alliances, and prepare for what could be an intense political season.
