The former chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Commission, Peter Ameh has stirred fresh controversies after he threw his weight behind the former governor of Anambra State and erstwhile Labour Party presidential aspirant, Peter Obi. According to his statements which were shared by ARISE NEWS on their official X handle, he pointed out that the former Anambra governor is the best candidate from the ADC coalition.
As the search for the best candidate from the ADC coalition heats up, many had advocated for Atiku Abubakar and former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi to emerge as the party’s flag-bearer.
However, according to Peter Ameh, a former chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Commission (IPAC), the search should be long concluded as a result of the presence of a certain figure.
He made the statements during a recent interview on popular television outlet, AriseTv on Wednesday where he equally shrugged off the effectiveness of the current administration.
According to Peter Ameh, Peter Obi was the best candidate from the coalition to remove an underperforming government. To this, he gave several feasible reasons to back his claims.
In his arguments, he disclosed that Peter Obi had proven without doubts that the people were fully invested in him given the numbers he amassed during the 2023 presidential elections.
“There’s a good chance that the coalition can remove an underperforming government, but this must be predicated on certain factors. The coalition needs a candidate who has momentum, public appeal, and an organic following. Peter Obi has proven, without doubt, from the numbers he amassed in the 2023 elections, that the people are invested in him.” He said.
